Behind but good

I have not posted most the summer - I've meant to, but never got around to doing it.  It is so easy for other things to get in the way.  I have done a number of weddings, engagements, and portraits in and around Cincinnati which you haven't seen here.  Some are on my Facebook page: L. J. Franklin Photography.  Some will make it to my new website.  Some will never be seen again.  But below are a few.

Jenn and Doug married at St. Mary Church in Hyde Park, Cincinnati, Ohio and celebrated the reception at the Kenwood Country Club, Cincinnati, Ohio

A surprise proposal and engagement session was done at the Friendship Park along the Ohio River, Cincinnati, Ohio where LJ Franklin Photography captured the special moments.

A special ceremony between two cultures was celebrated at the Gloria-Dei Lutheran Church in Crestview Hills, Kentucky and the reception took place on the B&B Riverboats in Newport, Kentucky

Engagement session

I encourage couples to take advantage of an engagement session. Why?

An engagement session is a great way for a couple to get to know their wedding photographer and to become comfortable in front of a camera. If having your photograph taken is an uncomfortable experience, then scheduling an engagement session is just the thing you need! Your photographer will help you become more relaxed and provide you hints on getting those beautiful images on your wedding day.

Engagement Photo Session with Tessa & Zach

Tessa and Zach are planning to be married in September at the Cincinnati Nature Center, Milford, Ohio.  Since they both like the out of doors they wanted to have me, LJ Franklin Photography, take their engagement photographs in a beautiful outdoor location in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Ault Park offers a wide range of setting for great engagement photos.  We did not have to go far to find good light and colorful flowers.

The Knot's Cocktails and Connections event took place at The Center http://www.thecentercincinnati.com/ in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.  It was a great success and LJ Franklin Photography, www.ljfranklinphotography.com  was there as one of the invited wedding vendors.  The Center is a great location for an event and The Knot has so many talented vendors to help make any celebration a grand success.

Carey & Drew

Engagement sessions are so much fun.  It is a time when a couple can have fun with each other and experience being the center of attention -- without the pressures of the wedding day.  Carey and Drew were great together and in front of the camera.  I can't wait until the day of their wedding this October.

Engaged to YOU Sarah & Tevor

It is always fun to photograph an engagement session because couples are

-- openly share their feeling
-- enjoy being together
-- will play
-- are themselves
-- are relaxed

So, great images are created.

Sarah and Trevor met me at Ault Park in Cincinnati, Ohio for a afternoon of photography. They were great to work with throughout the entire session.

Kelly & Mitch Engagement Photographs

Kelly and Mitch will marry June 26, 2011. The two met in grad school as they worked towards their masters in math. Both now have good jobs teaching high school kids in the Cincinnati area.

The wedding is taking place at the Jungle Jim's Oscar Event Center (http://www.junglejims.com/oscareventcenter/index.asp) -- a new one for me, but I am sure the food will be good.

We met last week at one of my favorite Cincinnati City Parks, Ault Park, (http://www.aultparkac.org/) to take photos in the late afternoon light. As you can see, we came away with some fantastic engagement photos. I am looking forward to the wedding.

Brandy & Geoffrey Engagement Photos

Brandy and Geoffrey are planning their wedding in Cincinnati over the Labor Day weekend, September 3, 2010. We met at one of Cincinnati's most beautiful city parks, Ault Park, one late rainy afternoon for this wedding engagement shoot. The overcast and rainy skies may not look appealing, but makes for soft beautiful light and great images of Brandy and Geoffrey. Below is a sample of the images we created together during their wedding engagement portrait session.

Tricia & Steve

On May 22, 2010, Tricia and Steve have plans to marry at Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park (http://www.pyramidhill.org/) located north of Cincinnati in Hamilton, Ohio.

We met at the park last Monday and I took a few wedding engagement photos of the couple around one of the ponds.
